Lost Horizon Coffee Roasters

Lost Horizon Coffee crafts micro-batch specialty coffee in Bristol, drawing its name from the tale of Shangri-la, where inhabitants lived enriched lives nourished by stimulating berries – reflecting the company's mission to transform utopian ideals into exceptional coffee experiences.

The roastery sources beans through direct partnerships with farmers, ensuring fair compensation that enables growers to continuously elevate their craft.

Their commitment to sustainability extends beyond farming – they double-offset their carbon footprint from farm to cup, partnering with Ecologi and Reforestum to support global reforestation and carbon capture initiatives.

The company's letterbox-friendly packaging combines recyclable and biodegradable materials, reflecting their dedication to environmental stewardship.

The Origin

The El Durazno coffee from Lost Horizon Coffee Roasters originates from the San Pedro Pinula region of Guatemala.

The Ventura family have been growing coffee for over five generations.

The coffee farming tradition began when their grandfather started growing coffee in 1894, at a farm called Finca Rabanales.

Over a hundred years later, the family purchased Finca El Durazno in 2012.

Rafael & Maria Elena planted coffee trees here for the first time in 2014. Before then the land was mainly used for forestry.

When we asked Rafael what differences he noticed at Finca El Durazno compared to the other family farms, he replied that due to the unique climate, he had to forget everything he knew about coffee and start fresh.

What he loves about coffee is that there is always something to learn.
