Coffee Origin

The Popayán coffee from Hundred House coffee roasters originates from the Popayán region of Colombia.

Popayan is located in the department of Cauca at 1.700 m.a.s.l. The region’s topography is perfect for growing exceptional coffee. The so-called Meseta de Popayan is sheltered by the Andes mountain range which helps generate homogeneous climatic and altitudinal characteristics. The result is a balanced cup profile with floral and caramel notes.

As the fourth largest country in South America, and the third largest coffee producer in the world, there is no mistaking Colombia’s presence in not only scale, but also skill. The country offers a landscape of contrasts; mountains, forests, coastlines, and micro-climates that work to produce some of the world’s most recognisable coffee.
