In terms of good looking coffee scales, the Acaia Pearl definitely takes the crown.
It’s slick minimalistic look is why it adorns the back-benches of so many third wave coffee shops.
It is pretty sharp as a coffee scale too.
The Acaia scales measure down to 0.1g and has laboratory grade scales that are even sensitive to weight loss due to evaporation. Its battery is rechargeable and connects to your phone so you can track the brew wherever you want.
There are also a couple of little details that are pretty cool, like the timer starts automatically when you start to brew, plus you can adjust when the scales turn off when idle (something that does occasionally happen with some scales - which is super annoying halfway through a brew).
They are essentially professional coffee espresso scales which is why they are priced at a level above many domestic coffee scales. However, if you’re a lover of design, precision or gadgets then these could be for you.
If the Acaia Pearl Coffee Scale isn’t for you then see what other scales we loved in our article on the best scales for coffee.
