Deluxe Coffee Works
Coffee Deluxe is the British cousin of the beloved South African coffee roastery
Launched in 2009 in Cape Town, the guys behind Coffee Deluxe have been showcasing and improving their fantastic coffee ever since.
Their approach to coffee is simple and don’t want to over complicate the whole process. Their menu is small but quality and each blend and roast has been tweaked and perfected.
Their journey into speciality coffee in the UK has only recently started but with their success in South Africa and the 13 years experience, they’re certainly here to stay.

The Origin
The Twongerekawa Coko coffee from Deluxe Coffee Works originates from Rwanda.
Twongerekawa Coko is a co-operative based in Coko sector, Gakenke district, in Rwanda’s northern province.
The co-op works with over 1,200 local smallholder farmers, each with an average plot of 1.3ha in size.
This lot is 100% sourced from women farmers.
The head office and farms of Twongerekawa Coko Cooperative are located around Buzanganjwiri Mountain where King Mibambwe III Sentabyo lived between (1741-1746) and Mother of Kigeri IV Rwabugiri called Nyirakideri IV Murorunkwere in (1853-1895).
Gakenke district lies in North West Rwanda near the Volcanoes National Park, home to 1 of only 3 populations of endangered mountain gorillas in the world.
Like much of Rwanda - “the land of a thousand hills” - the terrain is mountainous, rugged and exceptionally beautiful. Rich volcanic soils, plentiful sunshine, and tropical rainfall provide exceptional conditions for the cultivation of arabica, and the Bourbon variety particularly excels in the high elevations of Rwanda’s mountains.

The Origin
The Tres Marias Oriente coffee from Deluxe Coffee Works originates from the Jutiapa region of Guatemala.
Fiery volcanoes, huge lakes, huge lakes with fiery volcanoes. Guatemala has an iconic postcard worthy landscape that attracts folk from all over the world. It just so happens that the very things that make Guatemala so unique, the volcanoes also play a huge role in providing rich and nutrient land for coffee to grow.
Coffee has been growing in Guatemala since the 1850’s and was always one of main exports for the Guatemalan economy. Right up until the early twenty first century coffee was one of the main economic players in Guatemala. Unfortunately since the coffee crisis in 2001 and many farmers now choosing to farm other more profitable crops, coffee has been on the decline.
One of the great things about coffee production in Guatemala is the fact that many of the farms have their own wet stations so they are able to process their own coffee meaning that many of the coffees leaving the country are traceable right back to the farm.
Guatemalan coffee’s are highly regarded in the speciality coffee world because of the range of different flavours that can be found. The taste profiles can span all the way from light floral or citrus tones all the way through to deeper full bodied chocolatier notes.
