Freda Coffee Roasters
Freda is a small batch specialty coffee roaster based in Worthing, West Sussex, founded in 2025

About Freda Coffee Roasters
The roastery focuses exclusively on single origin coffees, sourcing smaller seasonal lots rather than offering year round blends, so every coffee arrives at its freshest and most expressive. The roasting philosophy is built around balance and clarity. Rather than imposing heavy roast character, Freda aims to highlight the work already done by the producer, letting sweetness, structure and clean acidity speak for themselves. Think crisp, elegant cups with a tea like clarity that works beautifully whether you are brewing espresso or filter. Coffees are sourced through trusted UK importers including Falcon Specialty in Lewes, with a focus on traceability and transparency throughout. Guatemala, Brazil, Peru and Kenya feature regularly throughout the year.

Coffee Origin
The 1000 Hills Coffee from Freda coffee roasters originates from the Kigali region of Rwanda.
Freda’s Rwandan offering comes from Inzovu, a fully washed coffee produced by smallholder farmers working with the Rwanda Trading Company across the Kigali region. The name means “elephant” in Kinyarwanda, a nod to both the strength of the farming communities behind it and the bold character of Rwandan lots. Grown at elevations between 1,700 and 2,000 metres across Rwanda’s famous volcanic highlands, the coffee benefits from rich soils and a cool high altitude climate that coax out the bright, fruit forward character the region is known for.
After harvest, cherries are fully washed, then milled, graded and hand sorted in Kigali before export, giving the final cup real clarity and structure. The Rwanda Trading Company supports its growers beyond the harvest too, running agronomy training, farm rejuvenation programmes and distributing new coffee seedlings to help secure the region’s future. Expect a vibrant, refined cup with sweet fruit notes and clean, balanced acidity throughout.
