Coffee Origin

The Aba Sholi coffee from Papercup originates from the Muhanga District of Rwanda.

Specifically the Aba Sholi womens cooperative. The Papercup team had the pleasure of meeting Aimable Nshimiye last year who is the current managing director of the group and was visiting Scotland to build relationships with coffee roasters.

After learning all about how the cooperative was founded and is still majority run by women from the local area we tasted the coffee they produced and jumped at the chance to get a hold of some of their fully washed coffee.Utilising a washed process for this bourbon varietal it’s fruit characteristics jumped off the table. Full of orchard fruits like peach, pear and apple, with mixed raspberry and strawberry vibes it makes us feel like we are drinking a cup of hot squash*.*Squash is the Scottish word for diluting juice.
