A NOTE FROM TOM
THE HOME BARISTA
So The Home Barista is everything I’ve learnt from years working as a barista in Sydney, roasting coffee back in the UK, and generally being a bit nerdy about making ‘proper coffee’ at home.
I’ve spent the last decade or so travelling around, visiting coffee farms, working in cafés, and figuring out what actually makes a brilliant cup of coffee.
This book is all that stuff extracted down into something actually useful for anyone who wants to make better coffee without all the pretentious nonsense.
Whether you’re just starting to explore coffee beyond that jar of Gold Blend or you’ve already got a decent setup at home, there’s something in here for you.
Whats in the book?
– How coffee gets from a farm in Colombia (or Ethiopia, or wherever) to your cup.
– Which beans to buy and how to store them properly
– Brewing guides for espresso, pour-over, cold brew, and a bunch of traditional methods from around the world
– Setting up your home coffee bar without spending a fortune
– Milk steaming and latte art techniques (the stuff that actually works, not just what looks good on Instagram)
– Some creative coffee recipes and international drinks to try
Basically, if you want to make genuinely great coffee at home, this book will show you how.
Written with the same approach we take with Batch Coffee Club – keeping it real, keeping it quality, and actually helping you enjoy brilliant coffee every day.
